Night Guards

How a Night Guard Prevents Bruxism

A woman wearing her night guard before sleeping to avaoid bruxism in Eugene, OR.
When you clench your teeth or grind your teeth at night, this is called bruxism. This is highly dangerous to your teeth. One of the most common, and effective, fixes is to invest in a mouthguard. This puts a soft barrier between your teeth. That way, when you put pressure between your teeth, the only thing getting damaged is the mouthguard itself. Sometimes, having a mouthguard can stop the behavior entirely. Other times, you have to go through and get a new mouthguard every few years as it gets worn out. Contact our office today if you struggle with bruxism in your sleep.
